CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, COMPANY SECRETARY & CHIEF LEGAL OFFICER

Born on August 31, 1971 in Mumbai, Komal Chaubal (previously Komal Durve) grew up in an ever changing and challenging environment, with father having a transferable job. The constant change taught her to appreciate and respect the diverse aspects of life and of people. An alumni of Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai, she completed her H.S.C. from the Bombay Board and graduated from the University of Mumbai. She is a Fellow Member (FCS 5186) of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). Over the years she has completed several Certificate Courses conducted by ICSI viz. Commercial Contract Management, Commercial Arbitration, Labour Laws.

Starting her career with Praj Industries Ltd. as a Management Trainee, she later became the Company Secretary of Vishay Components India Pvt. Ltd. She joined Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Ltd. (MKCL) in November 2003 as Company Secretary.

She has more than two decades of experience in Corporate Matters, viz. Governance, Administration and Legal matters. She has spearheaded the incorporation processes of joint venture companies (JVs) in India and abroad. She is the Company’s nominee Director on the Boards of MKCL Knowledge Foundation, Haryana Knowledge Corporation Ltd. and Odisha Knowledge Corporation Ltd.

She is a Member of various Committees/Teams of the Company viz. Key Management Team, APEX Coordination Team, Disciplinary Committee, Investments & Compliances Committee, Infrastructure Development & Maintenance Committee, Network Partnerships Management Committee, CMMI Steering Team.

The Board in its meeting held on November 18, 2019 through a competing process, appointed her as also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). As the CEO, the Board has entrusted Ms. Komal Chaubal with managerial and administrative functions viz. Company Matters and Corporate Governance, Government Interface, Legal Affairs, Accounts & Financial Management, Audits, Human Resources Management, General Administration, Civil Infrastructure and IT Infrastructure Management, Procurement of Goods and Services, Materials Management, Quality Management Systems.
